Exam pattern

  • Written Test will be of Multiple Choice Objective Type questions.
  • The  exam Duration  will be of Two Hours 120 Minutes.
  • The language will be English (except questions of Punjabi).
  • Every wrong answer have a cut off mark of 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Exam syllabus

General English and Punjabi Language: preposition, Verb, adverb, subject verb agreement, tenses, Error Correction/ recognition, sentences rearrangement, comprehension, fill in the blanks with articles etc., synonyms and antonyms usage, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, Proficiency in the language, vocabulary & grammar.

Computer Knowledge: Computer Fundamentals, Windows (MS-Windows), MS-Office: Word Processing (MS-Word), Presentation Knowledge (MS-Power Point), Spread Sheet (MS-Excel), MS Access and Usage of Internet Services available on Internet, Networking Concepts, Communication Technology.

General Knowledge/Awareness: History, Geography and Socio Economic development of Himachal Pradesh. Paper will also contain questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian Polity, Indian culture, Geography of India Indian Economy. Knowledge of current events (National and International importance) and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject.

Mental ability, Aptitude, Numerical Ability: The syllabus of Reasoning ability and General Intelligence contains questions from both verbal and non-verbal types. Written exam may contain questions on similarities, analogies, differences, space visualization, analysis, problem solving, judgement, decision making, discrimination, visual memory, observation, concepts, relationship, arithmetical reasoning, arithmetical number series verbal and figure classification, etc.

Post specific subject related questions: This part will have Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions according to the post and subject concerned as per the qualification mentioned in the Recruitment Rules.
